Genoa Motorsports Country Club FAQ
We wanted to clear up some of the misinformation floating around related to our track and our plans. We've created this FAQ to help do just that. If you have a question that isn't answered here or anywhere else on our site, please do contact us and ask us directly instead of listening to rumors. We want everyone to have the correct information.

What will be the first thing you build?
The 2.7-mile East track, paved paddock, and amentities including restrooms, showers, control tower, classrooms, etc. A racing facility is useless without asphalt on the ground and ready to run on. Buildings and other amenities can be built at the same time or after the asphalt is down. We want drivers to get on track.

Is your track for members only?
NO. We will build the East track first and have scheduled weekends for members and scheduled weekends for clubs. Weekdays may be rented by clubs but most will be made available for members.

Members will be paying for the cost of their circuit through member initiation fees and annual dues.

Will clubs be able to afford renting a circuit?
ABSOLUTELY YES. Our financial analysis and business model allows us to offer competitive market rates, while offering more amenities. Our rates will be comparable to what many of the local enthusiasts have grown accustomed to. Our goal is to provide value, while at the same time providing an unparalled experience.

Will the entire 5.86-mile circuit be available?
YES. Once the West track is built we will make the full circuit available to clubs on a limited basis until the West track is built.

What amenities will be available to clubs/groups in the paddock area?
The main Paddock building (see our Paddock building renderings) will have garage space available for rent to club/groups members when renting the track. This building will also house race control, classrooms, observation areas (you will be able to see most of the track from its vantage point), as well as proper restrooms and showers. Additional garage buildings will be added as we grow and demand dictates.

We will have areas for those who bring their "home on wheels". If you have a self-contained RV we will have plenty of space. For those who need or want RV electrical hook-up, we'll have dedicated pads for those too.

OK, so you are at the track and need gas for the street or racecar. We will have fuel stored and ready to pump in the paddock area - yes, this has been approved in our zoning permit.

Do you have a qualified track design team?
YES. We have the internationally known and locally based design team of Motorsports Consulting Services with Martyn Thake and Kyle Chism of GRIP, LLC. We considered four (4) different track designers, two of which visited the property. This team comes with the experience of designing internationally known tracks with the highest level of credibility and safety. Few track designers have the recognized ability to design to the high standards required to meet FIA and FIM standards. They are currently in the next design phase that will lead to construction drawings. Our partnership with Martyn and Kyle will exist until the project is complete and certified to FIA and FIM standards.

What makes your design team qualified to design a fun and safe track?
Martyn Thake is the track designer for Champ Car races as well as other private and public racetracks. Martyn and Kyle have worked together on a variety of track designs, including the Denver Grand Prix. Martyn has many years experience in track design and there is no substitute for experience when it comes to a design that provides a safe environment. Please see our Media Announcement for more complete background information.

What are the advantages to having a known and experienced track design team?
The first and foremost is cost. The old adage "you get what you pay for" is true for racetrack design. Because of Martyn's experience, insurance costs are typically lower based on his proven "track record". A proven track designer can be pretty certain that when the track is done it will pass requirements for certification. Bottom line - less costs, cheaper for the clubs to rent.

Another advantage is - SAFETY. When a track has little or no Armco guardrails relative to the racing line, like in our design, there are fewer structures that a car can hit, reducing the potential for damage to a car. This is another insurance cost factor. Less risk equals a lower cost, passed on to the clubs.

Has your track design team been on the property?
YES. We firmly believe the track design team must put "feet" on the ground to get a proper feel of how the track will "drive". They spent several days on the site driving the circuits to be certain they will be fun, safe, and constantly challenging. Designing a track from topographical maps only may very well miss the nuances provided by the terrain and will give an anapestic "feel".

Do the track circuits have elevation changes?
YES. The traditional and accepted method of calculating elevation changes for a track is to take the highest point and the lowest point and the difference is the elevation change of the track. The 3.72-mile circuit has 109 feet and the 2.7-mile circuit is 104 feet. There are many additional changes of elevation between the highest and lowest points so that the rolling terrain of the property is fully used for the driver's enjoyment.

Will race teams be able to use the track?
YES. Race teams can rent or become a Member. We can customize a business plan that will meet the special requirements of a race team.

What utilities do you have?
We will be using municipal water (town of Genoa). We already have 12,470 volts three-phase power on the property (enough to power a small city), and have data lines, telephone, natural gas, and fiber optics running to the property.

Do you have zoning permits?
YES. We have an unconditional and perpetual permit for race venues and their attendant amenities. We received it in May 2006.

What are the nearby amenities?
There are many fast food and sit-down restaurants within 10 minutes of the track.
There are over 500 hotel/motel rooms within approximately 10 minutes of our site.
The Hugo hospital is 8 miles south of the racetrack grounds.

Do you have an airport?
The Limon Airport is only 8 miles from our site. Our site plan includes the ability to have an on-site landing strip, but this will be well into the future.

Do you have a helicopter landing area?
YES. Included in our zoning permit is the ability to include helicopter land pads. There will be one for safety and rescue and one for Members.

Do you have paved roads?
YES. All roads leading to our site are paved. We will pave our internal roads as well. We want to provide safe and clean roadways for those who visit us. Why risk potential damage to your vehicle with dirt or gravel roadways.

What about the other motorsports related venues you have on your 2700-acre site plan?
Our concentration is on the 5.86-mile asphalt road course and amenities. We have set aside approximately 1,250 acres (out of the 2,700) for others who may want to design, build, and operate their own motorsports related venues. We are looking at this site as a family park where dad can do one kind of racing mom can do another and the kids could run go-karts or race ¼ midgets. The County Club Members and car and motorcycle clubs that rent the Country Club circuits will not be financially supporting these other venues. If you are an enthusiast/entrepreneur wishing to build and operate a race venue on our Park site, just call us.

We openly welcome any questions or comments; please contact us so that we may be able to answer them. We will respond to each one personally and if we think they are of general interest and we are able to answer them, we will add them to our FAQ. This way you can get the answer straight from the source, us.

For those interested in our Membership plans, we will be adding a Membership FAQ soon. And again, if your question isn't answered here please do contact us and ask us.
